The association is financed by membership fees and donations. Every amount goes straight into the library – there are no paid positions.

Paying rent for the physical books
Shelf space and rooms cost money – today in Solothurn and, from 2028, at the planned physical location in Basel too. This is the association's ongoing basic need.
Planning further projects
For example digitising the archive materials and building an AI-supported online database for searching the holdings.

Donate books or an estate
Not every donation is money. Single books, whole shelves, journal collections, correspondence, manuscripts or a complete estate: we review, collect and catalogue.
We also advise relatives who need to sort out a collection – in confidence and without obligation.
